LAS VEGAS

In May of 2005, the City of Las Vegas celebrated its 100th birthday. With festivities led by the world's happiest Mayor, Las Vegas stepped foot into its second century. While many think of the Las Vegas Strip as being "Las Vegas", in reality, the Strip is located in un-incorporated Las Vegas. The City of Las Vegas starts North of Sahara. If the mayor's dreams come true, living in the urban core of Las Vegas will become one of the more desirable places in the valley.

Aside from the new high rise buildings, there are some very desirable neighborhoods located in town. Starting with the guard gated Las Vegas Country Club where smaller homes currently start in the $400's up to more than $2 million for an estate sized home on quarter acre lots with golf course views.

The Alta Historic District is another beautiful area with mature shade trees and older homes. These are the kind of homes that were featured in the movie Casino. In 2007, Steve Wynn purchased an estate on over 8 acres for $13 million. In addition, he purchased a handful of properties adjoining this parcel to assimilate a 13 acre parcel. Neighbors are hoping his presence will have a positive influence on property values.

Communities in this area include Rancho Bel Air, Rancho Circle, the Scotch 80s and Spanish Oaks. The homes are older than you will find in our newer suburbs, but the area is favored by many medical and legal professionals due to the close proximity to the County Courthouse, City Hall, UMC, etc.
