SOUTHERN HIGHLANDS
As the southernmost community in the Las Vegas valley, Southern Highlands has easy freeway access for those who frequently commute to Southern California. In addition, the Strip and McCarran Airport are less than 10 minutes away.The golf course at Southern Highlands was designed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr. and Robert Trent Jones, Jr. With golf membership limited to 360 and by invitation only, this is regarded as one of the more exclusive courses in Las Vegas. In addition to the course, the community has a 13,000 square foot state of the art spa, with an additional 4000 square foot fitness center. There is a 25 meter lap pool, complete with cabanas with TVs and a separate children's pool. Tennis is also available at the spa.
The guard-gated golf course community includes semi-custom homes built by Christopher in communities such as Beleza. Homes in Beleza are on one third to half acre lots with 3000 to over 6000 square feet of living space and currently start around $1 million.
Custom homes are located in the Estates at Southern Highlands. Homes are on lots of one third acre to over an acre. Current prices start in the $2 million range up to $13.5 million for a 10000 plus square foot home on one and a quarter acre, with a golf course view.
Nearby, the guard-gated Tuscan Cliffs community is offering new, semi-custom homes starting in the $2 million range. The Tuscan Cliffs are at the base of the mountain. The developer, Pacific Southwest Development, has begun preparing land and selling home sites for their Bluffs community, located on the hillside. From the higher elevation, expect some unbelievable strip and valley views. Homes are in the 6000 to 6800 square foot size with prices in the Bluffs are starting in the $3 million range.
Southern Highlands also features smaller homes that are priced more moderately. Currently, builders are offering new homes in non-gated and mechanically gated communities, starting in the upper $200's. Southern Highlands has something suitable for most budgets.
